The gloves we use in virtual reality applications need a source of energy, and that means having wires coming to these gloves, which destroys the desired experience enough (imagine be feeling wires touching the skin while the eyes enjoy perfect virtual scenarios ).
In order to solve this problem, Italian engineers and US have been working on some gloves able to get energy with the movement of the fingers, energy, although not enough to keep the battery at 100% constantly for a traditional application it does increase the battery life.
The prototype has a name: "Goldfinger" and uses piezoelectric transducers that convert the mechanical movements of the user's fingers into electricity without losing the flexibility needed in these devices.
